A changing education landscape

Ready for the QCTO transition.

The adult learning landscape in South Africa is currently going through a transformation phase as the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) prepares to take over the management of quality assurance for accredited qualifications and skills programmes from the SETAs.

As a proactive organisation, Business Academy has already positioned themselves for the transition with the first of a number of new qualifications that will be offered. The existing qualification offered by Business Academy will be phased out accordingly. Following is an introduction to our new QCTO qualifications.

  1. 30 June 2023

Registration end date for all ‘historical’ qualifications.

  2. 30 June 2024

End of the one-year phase-out period for learners to still enrol.

  3. Thereafter

It will be necessary to move over to occupationally directed qualifications. Training, assessments, moderations, and achievements on historical qualifications only continue for learners registered before 30 June 2024.
